Set on three acres of alpine hillside in Queenstown overlooking Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkable range, Sherwood offers a unique setting to unwind, and reconnect with self and nature, and is firmly committed to sustainable practices, including energy provision. 

To this end, Sherwood commissioned one of the largest private solar installations in New Zealand at the time of its installation, generating more than they consume with the balance being returned to the grid.

A total of 248 high efficiency multi-crystalline solar panels were installed across all roof surfaces that showed sufficient potential to efficiently capture solar rays, and the system incorporates the latest monitoring and evaluation hardware and software. This system also serves as a solar lease model under Sunergise NZ.
