300kWp PV MINI GRID HYBRID SYSTEM

2022

Clay Energy designed and installed this mini-grid hybrid PV system as an EPC project for Naitauba Island in the northern Lau group of the Fiji Islands with the intention of providing the villages with clean renewable energy. It comprises of a 300.96kWp of solar, 925kWh battery energy storage system and existing 2 x 110kVA Gensets. 


It was installed as a mini-grid to minimize the runtime of the diesel generators. The primary function of the installed system is to utilize energy from solar power and BESS while keeping the diesel generators as backup.

75kWp PV MINI GRID HYBRID SYSTEM

2023 - PHASE I

The mini grid hybrid PV system was designed, installed, and commissioned by Clay Energy in 2023 as an EPC project for Naitauba Island in the Northern Lau group. System installation comprises of 75.6kWp of solar with 27kW of inverter capacity, 340kWh battery and 30kVA inverter/charger. 


The system incorporates a combination of Victron Energy, Fronius and Pylontech products. It works as a mini grid hybrid system by primarily utilizing solar and battery energy to power the loads. The diesel generator works as backup when the solar and battery power is not sufficient.

47kWp PV MINI GRID HYBRID SYSTEM

2023 - PHASE II

This 47.04kWp solar system with 140kWh battery storage provides power to all loads as a mini grid hybrid system thus reducing generator runtime. 


The system incorporates a combination of Trina Solar, Victron Energy, Fronius and Pylontech products installed and commissioned by Clay Energy as an EPC project. The generator is integrated with the PV system to provide backup power when solar and battery supply is not sufficient.
